Blues Artists

The Yardbirds was a British band which launched the careers of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. The Yardbirds played a significant role in introducing blues standards like Smokestack Lightnin’ and I’m A Man to British audiences in the early 1960’s.

The Yardbirds played with blues legend Sonny Boy Williamson during a British tour.

Eric Clapton left the Yardbirds in February 1965 to join John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. Jimmy Page left the Yardbirds in 1969 to form Led Zeppelin.
