Reverend William Herbert Brewster (1897-1987) was born in Somerville, Tennessee and is considered one of the most influential composers and writers in 20th century Gospel music.

He was Pastor of the East Trigg Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Reverend William Herbert Brewster was inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame.
